ASPIRE awards
National Nursing Week (May 9 to 15) marked the awarding of the first Covenant Health Faculty of Nursing Awards, a new recognition program launched by the university’s nursing faculty in November. Co-sponsored by Covenant Health, Canada’s largest Catholic health care provider, the program recognizes contributions in six categories: student (undergraduate and graduate), teaching, team, research and an overall award. Here, Sandra Vanderzee, director, Professional Practice for Covenant Health and Dr. Elizabeth Cannon present the ASPIRE award (which represents Accountability, Sustainability, Partnership, Integrity, Responsive and Excellence) to Brenda Toth, director, undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Nursing.
